Dr. Thaer Deeb
Thaer Deeb
Born in Syria / Latakia / 1962; Human physician, fully dedicated to translation and cultural work; He works as Deputy Director of the Translation Unit at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies; He worked between 2012 and 2014 as editor-in-chief of the Tabween quarterly magazine, the court concerned with intellectual and cultural studies issued by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, and then as a member for a period of its editorial board; Member of the Advisory Board for the “Knowledge Transfer” project between UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture in Bahrain; He worked with an experience contract in the Syrian General Book Authority, the Ministry of Culture, and previously was its director of translation for a short period.
He headed the editor-in-chief of "Josoor" magazine, a quarterly concerned with translation and its studies, issued by the Syrian General Book Organization, the Ministry of Culture; Previously, he was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Al-Adab al-Alamiyya", which is issued by the Arab Writers Union, Damascus; He is a persistent writer in the Arab cultural and intellectual press, and has many studies and research published in Arab periodicals; He edited a number of articles in the "Arabic Encyclopedia" issued by the General Authority of the Arabic Encyclopedia - Damascus; He participated in many Arab and international conferences concerned with issues of thought, culture and translation.
